Learn how 2G and 3G works and its meaning?



2G: 2G is a second generation technology was launched in the year 1991 in Finland. It is based on the technology known as global system for mobile communication or in short we can say GSM. This technology enabled various networks to provide services like text messages, picture messaging, picture messages and MMS. In this technology all texts messages digital transmitted due to which only the required receiver receives messages.
            These digital consume less battery power, so it helps in saving the battery of mobiles.
How it 2G works:
                        Advancement in mobile phones technology has been marked by generation (G) Analog phones are related to the 1st generation (1G), and then come digital phone marked by second generation (2G). The second generation mobile phones has changed the concept of mobile phones by introducing high data transfer rate, increased frequency band and wireless connectivity.
                        Three types of technologies in the second generation these are FDMA (Frequency Division Multiple Access), TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) and CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access). All types have one common feature of multiple accesses which means that many users are able to use the same number of cells.
  3G:   
3G technology is used for getting higher bandwidth, multiple mobile applications and clarity of digital signals. 3 G technology is also known as 3rd generation technology. GSM technology was able to transfer circuit switched data over. The network the use of 3G technology is also able to transmit packet switch data efficiently at better and increased bandwidth. 3G mobile technologies provide more advanced services to the mobile users. It can help many multimedia services to function. The efficiency of 3G technology is better than 2G technologies. Efficiency is the measurement of rate of information transfer over any communication system 3G is also known as IMT – 2000.
          How 3G Works:
As we know very well that people are always crazy to use the advanced and latest technology. So, 3G technology is the modified form of second generation are combined into 3rd generation. We can say that 3G technology is known as smart phone with high data transfer rate, Wi-fi hotspots connectivity and multimedia features.
Three important technologies which makes the 3G standard are CDMA-200, WCDMA (UMTS) and TD-SCDMA. The prominent feature after the integration of high capability technologies are like high speed data transfer rate at 3Mbps the use of internet.
CDMA – 2000:        (Code Division Multiple Access 2000) is approved by 3G PP2 organization. CDMA 200 hybrid with IS-95 B provides as unlimited versions are used to attain the highest speed of greater efficieny of the mobile phones.
(W-CDMA/UMTS):            3G mobile technology has been marked by the CDMA apprenement. ETSI alpha group develop this technology on radio access method. W-CDMA offers challenges in shapes of versatility and complexity of its design.

So, in the and we can say that 2G is the fastest technology for the smart phone, (Digital) as compare to the analog. But 3G is modified, latest and advancement in the 2nd generation (2G).
